Montessori curriculum :
A Montessori curriculum is an integrated one with an inclusion of the following; Sensorial, Mathematics, Language and Exercises of Practical life activities. Each one of these works in unison for the preparation of the other.

Exercises of practical life :
Here the child performs activities that are a part of his/her daily life. These are further categorised as ‘taking care of self’ and ‘taking care of the environment’.

The purpose of the Exercises of Practical Life is three fold :
1. To aid the child’s adaptation to his culture.
2. To help him/her become independent.
3. To develop coordination of movements for the body and mind to work in harmony.
We, at Casa Vista Montessori, offer a prepared environment where your child will find all the means and efficient tools to work with, at his/her age. Most of the activities offered in Exercises of Practical Life are local, familiar to the child and are physically proportionate.

Sensorial :
As we all know that senses are components of our nervous system. We take in all the impressions of the world through our senses. Therefore, we offer well curated activities which cater to their visual, acoustic, tactile, olfactory and gustatory sense. Montessori activities are designed to appeal to every sense organ of the child which moves the child gradually from concrete experiences to abstract understanding.

Mathematics :
Mathematics deals with shape, space, numbers, measurements and its relationship to its symbols.

The mathematical activities offered at our school aim to :

  • Develop logical thinking
  • Form abstract notions through concrete objects
  • Develop problem solving skills
  • Develop the ability to apply Math to real life scenarios

Language :
Language at our school begins right from the time when your child enters our environment. We step forward to help the child continue developing his spoken language based on his/her prior experiences. We provide children with rich and real experiences to strengthen his/her communication skills. Stories, poems, books and other activities enhance the development of written and spoken language. All of the above mentioned areas hugely compliment and foster language development.

Culture :
Montessori culture activities include learning about geography, history, general science, botany and zoology, music, and art. Children inquire into various concepts through hands-on materials, in order to orient themselves to the world around them.
